About the Author

 

James is a computer musician from the USA, with composition training from Butler (B.Mus.) and Duke (M.A, Ph.D.) Universities. Recently relocated to South China, in preparation for a teaching post to begin in fall 2010.

James divides his time between:

  • Composing the music for a new interactive, multimedia dance piece in collaboration with Dance Box Theater and video artist Lorne Covington, as part of the Kennedy Center's local dance commissioning project and which will premiere October 21-22, 2010;
  • Trying frantically to learn Mandarin;
  • Enjoying the many varieties of local Chinese food!
